Experience the authentic thrill of truffle hunting in the heart of the Crete Senesi, one of the most beautiful and recognizable landscapes in all of Tuscany. Accompanying you will be an experienced truffle hunter together with his faithful truffle dog, with whom you will delve into the Santarcangelo truffle farm in search of the most precious mushroom on earth.

After a short welcome briefing, in which we explain how the research is carried out and what to expect, we set off together for the excursion. Along the way, you will learn to recognize the different varieties of truffles and their main characteristics, the ideal properties of their habitat and the types of forest they prefer. You will see up close the extraordinary work of the dog, who guides every discovery with its nose, and there will be no lack of time for some souvenir photos with him and the truffle hunter.

A simple and genuine experience, suitable for curious people, enthusiasts and families, to bring home the memory of a morning immersed in Tuscan nature and the secrets of an ancient profession.

This season (from January 10 to the end of April) we are looking for the precious Marzuolo Truffle, also known as Bianchetto.

• Excursion guided by an expert truffle hunter (duration about 1 hour)
• The faithful truffle dog that leads the research
• Initial briefing and explanation on the world of truffles (varieties, habitats, types of forest)
• Souvenir photo with the truffle hunter and the dog

Practical information

• Meeting point: Farmhouse Santarcangelo, Locality Santarcangelo, 53041 Asciano (SI), in the heart of the Crete Senesi
• Comfortable clothing suitable for trekking in the woods (closed shoes) is recommended
• Minimum 2 participants per booking
• Any truffle found is not included: it can be purchased on site directly from the truffle hunter or at the Asciano Truffle Association
• At the Santarcangelo Farmhouse you can buy truffles and typical local products
• Reservations close 7 days before the chosen date
• Languages: Italian and English
